Following the Ceremony

After the ceremony and during the post ceremony picture taking I wandered into the buffet area, actually I was looking for the bar to get something to ease the pain in my wallet, and saw the spread I had paid for. My Gosh, there was enough food to feed the entire city of Stafford. And LIQUOR!!! The British navy would take a whole day to drink it all. I rushed back to the gathering and did a quick count. The people who looked like they would have a designated driver were tee-totallers. I’ll bet there weren’t more than 4 tipplers not counting me. Well I certainly recognized my duty. All that liquor and food had to be consumed. I grabbed a tumbler and set to with a will. AH the glory of “bad pop”! Click on the picture to visit more pictures of the wedding guests and family.

I told the cop that I had a designated driver and it was my duty to assure none of the liquor escaped. She smiled and helped me load the bottles in the car afterwards and made sure that I was on the passenger side.

Weddings seem to move by fits and starts. I don’t know why since most of us have been to many of the things and the form has not changed in centuries. Nevertheless we were all standing around, looking around, and wondering what was next. Click on the picture for more pictures of the ritual around the cakes.

Mike Farhoudi, Jim Lewis, Wayne Laviolette, Tammy Robertson and Cameron, Erin Althaus (background), Carolyn Robertson (sitting), Vinna Farhoudi (black dress), unknown. It was only during the write up of this page almost 2 years later that I recognized the significance of the characters on his cake. Misty Wild Shaun. Who says I am slow?

This picture looks to me like Misty is saying “Well, it is time to wrap this thing up”. She was talking to some friends we have known forever. Click on the picture for the last set of pictures of the wedding and their getaway.

Mike Anderson, Nell Anderson (red top), Kim Wiley (right of flowers). Everyone began to migrate to the porch for the get-away. I sat and waited, suffering an over-abundance of bad pop, with Carolyn until everyone was outside. I really was still not ready for Misty to leave home.
