Another Fertility Ritual

I don’t know what they call the place where the wedding cakes are located but I am sure it is an expensive sounding name. At least the flowers were real. At one of Misty’s aunts wedding a family fight erupted over the division of the freaking flowers. Misty had chosen wisely and didn’t have a lot of flower arrangements. This one on the Bride’s table had a faint sweet smell. I do not know which flower smelled.

Misty and Shaun had a double ring ceremony. This picture shows their rings. Notice his hand is on the table. Our family “omen reader” says that means Shaun will always go first and lead Misty safely. For once I like the omen. Don’t believe it but like it. Marriage needs all the good omens it can get.

Beautiful Cake. Makes me remember our wedding cake. Don’t remember the taste but do the fear that I was going to screw up the process because I didn’t pay attention during the rehearsal. Caro saved the top for years and I finally tasted it 10 years later. Gag! I hope they save their cake and have as good a marriage as I think I have.

I never did find out how much this cake cost and honestly I was afraid to ask for fear of rupturing a blood vessel in my brain. This wedding cost almost as much as our house. The one Misty was borne into and where we still live.

Another of those timeless rituals. I expect the Cro-Magnons had the same routine at their weddings. Supposed to assure they are always able to feed and care for one another.

Shaun’s cake was chocolate. Since the wedding I have puzzled over the symbology on the cake. I finally asked Caro because I needed help with this page and she gave such a look. I knew instantly that I had been caught in another “guy” thing. She made me set down so the sudden rush of knowledge would not overwhelm my brain. She said slowly with exxagerated pronunciation. Misty Wild Shaun. I guess I really am “brain damaged”.

Finally the cutting of the Groom’s cake. Sure signal that the end is approaching. The chocolate cake was excellent. I smuggled home about 6 pieces.

From the cake ceremony onward to the eating and dancing.
