Off to Life

After the eating came the dancing. Shaun and Misty make a fine looking couple. Not very many of the guests danced. Mostly the children and the 20 “somethings“.

Came the time when the kids were to leave. I know, I know. She had told me and I watched her pledge her troth to Shaun and he did likewise. I know! But I wasn’t ready for my girl to leave. Caro and I danced and she talked to me about how Misty was always going to be close and yada, yada, blah, blah. But at least she got me to thinking of other things.

I sat at my table and tried to make time stop. Caro would not let me. She finally got Misty to tell me that we would have a Saturday or Sunday morning time every month forever.

I finally met Shaun’s grandmother. Misty and Shaun introduced her to me while I was taking this picture.

Dang!! Shaun’s mother is really pretty. If Shaun carries the genes from his mother and grandmother he and Misty cannot help but make beautiful kids. OOPS, don’t want to start the pressure too soon.

The cars they were using for the honeymoon trip wasn’t very marked-up. That is until you looked inside. I was told that the car was full of inflated condoms. Ah hah another fertility totem. I know I heard a lot of popping sounds when Shaun and Misty got into the car.

How naive I am. I thought these were white balloons. Once again I got “that” look from Caro and the curt message “They’re condoms”. Okay geeze I live a sheltered life.

They loaded into the car and off they went. I gathered my herd and all the food and booze I could get in the trunk and went home. The house seemed so small and quiet. Now all Caro and I and Tim and Diane have to do is help guide the kids to a stable happy marriage. And not pressuring for grandkids.

The story is told.
