Parade 6

I noticed the grandkids all of a sudden set up straight and whispering amongst themselves. Gradually I realized that the FTD float featured Alice Thru the Looking Glass. Apparently the three of them really like the story. Case watched the float until it was completely out of sight around the corner. They just barely were aware of the horses that followed.
The next float won the “Craftsman Award“. It was one of my favorite. The volcano errupted periodically and the dinosaurs heads moved around and up and down. The builders used broccoli for the green tint of the dinosaur hide.
The University of Miami band marched and were going to perform at the Rose bowl. Of course I did not miss the chance to photograph some “eye candy“. Two older men next to me told each other leaving the young girls behind was the major down side of maturity. Big sighs!!! The next group of riders were kids and grandkids Roy Rogers and Dale Evans and their friends and fellow stars. The grandkids really watched all the horse groups because they have horses. Lowes had a float that was about the national gardens. I didn‘t even know there was such a thing. Turns out Lowes founded the National Gardens in Washington D.C. I have no clue why we have such a thing. Just another way to spend my money.
As the Columbine High School band passed the crowd stood and applauded. This was their first public performance since the shootings. Their appearance was kind of inspirational. If the High School could recover after their horror then the nation can recover from the World Trade Center destruction.
The last two are of the float “Vacation Time“ The program says the float is laid out as a travel brochure for the USA. I still cannot see the idea. But Caro and I thought it had some of the prettiest flowers in the parade.
