Parade 7

The first float pictured featured two cats. Caro thought it was so beautiful that we determined to go to where the floats are parked for later inspection. I would like to have a tree shaped like the one on the back of the float.
The first float used only roses. Apparently they also used older roses because the odor was exquisite as the float passed. The Goodyear Blimp made several trips to the area but I noticed it was never directly over the crowds. The FIRST British school to ever take part in the parade was Christ‘s Hospital. Contrary to the name it is a co-ed boarding school for 800 boys and girls not a hospital. Ever since 9/11/2001 we and the British have drawn closer, almost like during WWII.
My friend Troy would have liked the Kite float. Troy travels the world participating in kiting events. I never saw so many white roses. I didn‘t notice a rose smell but they sure were pretty. I would have given the best award to the Downey Rose Float.
The drum is owned by the Kennewick High School band which claims it is the largest drum in the world. Horse Feathers! The drum of the University of Texas would make at least two of them.
Little did I know that shortly I would go on a diet based on Subway sandwiches. I got the inspiration from Jared. The kids on the float were swinging at pinatas for candy and treats. Evidently they thought there was really candy in them because they were really whaling away at the things.
These riders represent all the ethnic groups that helped settle the old west. As a young man I was taught that only white males tamed the West. I am continually learning that the west was amazingly ethnically diverse.
