Finally the Parade

I have been working on this for over a year and just now am getting to the floats. Jeepers!! Those where why Caro wanted to see the parade in person. We we not prepared for the smell of the flowers. Talk about perfume. We had heard the TV announcers remark on the smell but had no concept. The very first float was from Honda. Most of their cars are now produced in America for export around the world. Go figure that. 8^)
We were right across from the TV broadcast booths. We we also at the very head of the parade. The floats came onto OrangeGrove a block from our bleacher.
The volunters, in white, gave everyone a small American flag. It struck me funny that at this ultimate American event the souvenir flag was made in China. Many comments were made about the Chinese probably used slave labor. I told everyone not to worry since we now had Coca Cola and MacDonalds overthere.

The flag pole is at the first corner. We were close enough to hear it flapping. The two young women pointed to in the picture have a “show business“ job. You will see their act on a later page.
Goodyear must get a lot of publicity and business from these blimps. All the crowd were sort of fixated by their presence. The stealt bomber literally snuck up on the crowd. They were so quiet the the crowd acted surprised when this one showed up overhead. The thing was very loud when it passed directly overhead.
The large tall float all hunkered down to get around the first corner. Here the girls are showing the first act in their show business. I smell Wisteria as the dinosaur float went by but didn‘t see any on the float.
