After dinner we found the third restaurant. It was in the dining cars. I don‘t think Caro could have gotten into them because I saw no ramps or any other provision for her to get into them. I was told by the front dest jockey when I checked out that the chef is world rated. Oh well, that is called experience. The picture shows the long vista between the two sets of tracks. One string is all sleeper cars and the other is diners.

I hope you can read the plaque. It tells the history of the Choo Choo. I didn‘t know that the locomotive was a real working machine.

Recycling train stations seems to be a modern phenomenon. Now that almost nobody can or does ride trains we are getting nostalgic for the past that was never really happened. Both Texas ML Baseball teams play in converted train stations.
This picture of the locomotive was made the next morning under very low clouds and threatening rain clouds (naturally). Not much difference between this picture and the enhanced one on the previous page

I don‘t know what the name of this flower is but I think it is some sort of Cock‘s Comb. I have tried for decades to grow them in Houston but only succeed in getting them to the bloom set stage before they get burned to the ground. I quit trying and her in Chattanooga I discover them in all their beauty and by Jove I am going to try again.

For those, like me, who get impatient looking at slow loading pictures of flowers and gardens I present 6 thumbnails from the gardens of the Chattanooga Station. For all others click on a small picture to see a larger version. Be sure to use your BROWSER BACK BUTTON to return to this page. The gardens are actually worth a full day of browsing and admiration. Mix in meals in the 3 restaurants and occasional trips to the bar and one could spend several days on the grounds of the Chattanooga Choo Choo Holiday Inn.
