The day scheduled for the group picture started sort of drizzly and cloudy so the grannies began to slowly migrate individually and in small groups toward the swimming pool area. Being a gabby group, naturally since that is how we first came together, we would stop and talk to a friend and maybe share a joke or uplift.
Notice that Most of the women are wearing or at least carrying a red hat. There is a “RED HAT” society for women over 50. Women under 50 wear pink hats. Amelia is the baby of the group so she wore a pink hat. I am definitely not female so I wore no hat. All us Grannies wear proudly the purple t-shirt with the dancing grannie logo.
Mary Jane made a blank journal or diary as a gift and had a drawing to pick the winner Shirley was the lucky winner and despite the efforts of many unscrupulous grannies to impersonate her Mary Jane awarded the “real” Shirley. Notice the “loud shorts on the mister grannie. They are actually swimming trunks.
We were all heartened by Sandy and Pete coming to the reunion. Sandy was in terrible pain but was not going to miss the gathering. Her will power will lead her to a complete recovery.
