Peanut Butter-Rice Krispie Treats

1 cup sugar
1 cup white Karo syrup
Bring to a boil in a large saucepan (about 4 quart size), just until the sugar is dissolved:
Stir in 1 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy).

Then mix in 6 cups of Rice Krispies. Spread into a 9x13 inch pan, that has been greased with butter. While still warm, sprinkle with semi-sweet chocolate bits*. Allow to melt, then spread chocolate over the top of the cookies. Cut into bars or squares.

*Butterscotch chips may be substituted for the chocolate bits.
