I was so devastated by the lose of my digital camera that I swore I would not ever drink any more “bad pop“ if I could just get it back. Caro and I just kinda hung out in the room that morning. Finally I decided to go to Pigeon Forge where there was supposed to be a Wal-Mart. I was going to buy another 1 mega-pixel camera despite the cost. So I told Caro I was going to go get gas and oil and maybe get us some hamburgers. Off I went towards Pigeon Forge. Never did find the Wal-Mart but did stop for oil and gas and hamburgers. On the way back into Gatlinburg I passed 3 tattoo parlors and almost stopped. On a hunch I went to Calhoun‘s. Glory of Glory! Our waiter had taken the camera home for safekeeping and had taken it back to the restaurant on the way to school. I thought we had packed enough clothes to last a month but Caro said we needed to wash and do some grocery shopping. So we took off in the rain looking for a washateria. Found a 6 washer unit on the road to the Food City store. It was built up against a sheer rock cliff. The picture shows a tree growing into the rock. The root was actually cracking the rock. I don‘t know what kind of bush was growing on the rock but it did have pretty red berries. The berries didn‘t any odor that I could detect. Across the road from the washateria was a church with a large conifer of some sort. It didn‘t look like a pine or juniper or cedar. It did have noticeable cones I kept looking in the area for evidence of leaves changing color. Finally I saw a tree near the church that looked like the leave were changing to red and gold. One of the things about the Gulf Coast of Texas is the absence of seasons. I would love to take a “color tour“ some year. |
