passed away in 1971, he and Trevah moved to the home place. After Junior passed away and the estate was settled, he bought the place. He retired at 65 from the oil field but has worked at other things ever since. After Trevah passed away he married Mary Hannah, a wonderful person.

I went to Southwestern State Teacher’s College for I ranted to be a math teacher, alter having Mr. Daily as an algebra and geometry teacher. Elmer planted me 10 acres of cotton to help pay my way. In return I helped him with his crops. Only cost $10.00 a week for light housekeeping room. I took food from home but still know that Morn and Dad and the other kids made sacrifices for me to go the first two years. The third year I stayed with Uncle George in Chickasha and went to Oklahoma College for Women Cost $28.50 for books and tuition. Uncle George loaned me money to finish my degree. I taught one year at Kechi with Elizabeth Gaylor and Emorey Gale. I received $75.00 a month and lived in one room of the teacherage. I was able to pay Uncle George back. I married Woodrow Redmon in the fall of 1933. After our second child was born we started following the oil field in Oklahoma City and Ada. We went to Texas in 1937 and lived in a number of different places. Ended up in Monahans where I taught school for 25 years, 17 in 5th grade and 8 years as special reading teacher. I retired in May of 1977 and moved back to Cement. Donald had bought the house for me that Mr. Sewell had built the front rooms in 1902. Substituted so much that it was decided to put me on the payroll. Taught remedial math ½ day to 7th and 8th and 9th grades for two years. Because of health end age, I retired again in May 1981.

Iva also went to school at Weatherford. She got a two year teaching certificate. She was teaching at Cottonwood, south of Cement. She married John Steed a soldier from Fort Sill, on October 6. The district ran out of money and thought school would have to shut down so they moved to Lawton. After her husband got out of the Army they lived in Oregon, Texas and Hobbs, New Mexico where Speed passed away. Iva and children moved to Cement where she worked in Jackson's’ Grocery store until they went to California. She started teaching near Stockton. She finished up her degree while teaching. She retired at 65 and still lives in Stockton.

Bessie also went to school at Weatherford for one year and one year at Edmond. She wrote to County Superintendent in Sierra Blanca, Texas. She taught in a one teacher school on a ranch two years. She married Marlow Williams. They lived in Cement and Cyril. They lived in Oregon two different times, a total of four years. She went to Lame Deer, Montana in 1961 to teach. She came back in the summer and went to school in Weatherford. She got her degree in 1966. She started teaching in Cement in the fall of 1966, taught 12 years and took an early retirement in 1978. She and Marlow live out by Laverty now.

Marion worked in oil field for awhile but was laid off and went to CCC camp. He said he'd like to be far enough from home that a letter would take six weeks or more to reach home. However he stayed the whole 18 months at Rush Springs. He married Charlene Stover. At one time they built a house on Grandma’s place in north part of Cement. He bought J.V.'s filling station and moved the house behind the station. He was in the Amy at the end of the war. He was ready to embark when war ended and sailed next day for the Plillipines where he was in the army of occupation for six months. He also went to work for the Ohio Oil Co. and transferred to Bay City or Markham, Texas. Charlene passed away after several years of suffering with cancer. He later married Jean Neckle (Mickley)from Carnegie. They both lost their lives in the explosion and fire in Utah last August, 1981.

Sally went to Mangum Junior College one year. She worked in Oklahoma City where she met and married Calvin Laxson in 1939. They went to California in 1940.
