SIX-IN-ONE REFRIGERATOR COOKIES

2 C. butter or oleo, softened
1 C. sugar
1 C. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
4 C. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter. Gradually add sugars and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Divide dough into 6 (1 cup) portions.
Then follow directions for Step 2.

Step 2:
1/2 C. shredded coconut
1/2 C. finely chopped pecans
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 (1 oz.) square unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/4 C. finely chopped candied cherries

Add coconut to one part; pecans to second; nutmeg and cinnamon to third; melted chocolate to fourth; and candied cherries to fifth. Leave last portion plain. Chill for 30 min. or longer. Shape dough into 6 rolls about 1 3/4" in diameter. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate overnight. Dough may be frozen at this point.

When ready to use, slice in 1/8" slices. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree. oven 10-12 minutes. Cool on rack.

Makes 18 dozen. (Use your imagination to alter the added ingredients to reflect your family's tastes.)
