HEAVEN'S FULLNESS

"When I call to remembrance the unfeigned Faith that is in
thee, which dwelt First in thy Grandmother LOIS, and
thy Mother Eunice; and I am Persuaded that in Thee
Also." The Second Epistle of Paul the Apostle
To TIMOTHY - - Chapter One
Verse Five.

O could I Full the Vessel fill
With all Her Lovely Face,
And view Her Gladness still
In every line and smile; and trace
The Beauty There!

I'd then be most content to drink,
Even to the dregs, of any Potion
That God in Love doth link
With man and wife in pure Devotion!
O tell me where,

That I may quench this parching Thirst
And have the confidence and Peace
She gave, putting me First
In Love, thus Sacrificing to Relieve
My anxious Care!

She and I together did bear
Great Grief in the demise
Of One who Crowned, so Dear,
Our Hope in Joyous Family Life
Made So by Fair

And Earthly Joys of Health and Home!
But These, Alas, gave o'er
And left us, sad and lone!
Oh, Saviour! Let us Love Thee More!
You came: To Share

Such Griefs; for sin, Atone; and then
To cancel death and sorrow;
Give Mercy to Mankind, and blend
With These, the Bliss of Heaven's Glad Tomorrow - -
All Waiting up There!
