The least thing I can say about the Ripley‘s Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg is AWESOME. I was expecting an aquarium and what we got was an intimate tour of the fishes of the tropics.
The entrance walkways to the aquarium were decorated with pumpkins, squashes, and other gourds and figures. The fall festival was happening while we were there and every business was vying for awards for best decorations about the fall season.

Really big Pumpkin

After we got back to Houston Emeril Legasse had two shows about cooking with squash. You can click on the pictures to see a larger view.

Caro took some excellent pictures of some of the grannies and their friends as they were waiting to go into the Aquarium.

Don't they look frightened?

We had a self guided tour so the group became quite scattered once we got into the building and each grannie went at their own pace. I didn’t hear many complaints about the tour. In fact, most were highly impressed with the event and especially the powered walk-way that allowed one to look more closely at the fishes exhibited. I had no idea that the tour actually wandered through the aquarium via a transparent tunnel.
