Days until PRESIDENTIAL election| The long break in bowl making because of the lousy slow repair service by Sears on my lathe has deteriorated my skills. The Sycamore bowl that I left mounted on my lathe during my work on Walk #1435 developed a catastrophic crack in the tenon. I had to use massive quantities of super glue to repair the break. I did not notice the break until I was trying to thin the sides and deepen the bowl. Fortunately I left enough wood that I will be able to turn a round recurved bowl. While I was waiting for the super glue to set I remounted the bat I was turning for my Austin grandson. The bat is way too heavy for use and has cracks and pith all through the bat. It did finish up to be a good looking bat. I used a wood burning tool to mark the bat with his name and a short summary of the origin of the wood and the maker of the bat. I got so distracted by the courtship of the toads in my Koi and Lily ponds that I had to stop working. They were drowning out the radio broadcast of the Astros game. Despite my earlier predictions of a bad team they are doing very well so far. |  |
My brother in law emailed me about my work on the servant team. I told him that I would work with him on any walk he chooses. This brother in law is very highly regarded by all who know him. The servant team people on walk #1435 only had good words about him even when they did not know our relationship. I am honored to have such kin folk. Friday I am going to book passage on Greyhound to Oregon in July. I must do it soon before they raise the rates again.
I am still exhausted from the work on the walk so I am going to bed.
I have a favor to ask. Please visit Carolyn's birthday gift which is about our trip to the Rose Bowl Parade. The trip was a gift from our senior daughter. I noticed some address errors for pictures and would like help to find them all. Plus my wife is perturbed because so few people have visited the pages. Thanks in advance.

A distinguished young woman on a flight from Ireland asked the Priest beside her, "Father, may I ask a favour?"
"Of course child what may I do for you?"
"Well, I bought an expensive woman's electronic hair dryer for my Mother's birthday that is unopened and well over the Customs limits, and I'm afraid they'll confiscate it. Is there any way you could carry it through customs for me? Under your robes perhaps?"
"I would love to help you, dear, but I must warn you: I will not lie."
"With your honest face, Father, no one will question you."
When they got to Customs, she let the priest go ahead of her. The official asked, "Father, do you have anything to declare?"
"From the top of my head down to my waist, I have nothing to declare."
The official thought this answer strange, so asked, "And what do you have to declare from your waist to the floor?"
"I have a marvelous instrument designed to be used on a woman, but which is, to date, unused."
Roaring with laughter, the official said, "Go ahead, Father. Next!"
